Doherty waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans, posting a 61-22 victory. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Trojans are ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Doherty's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaity Driskell, who posted 13 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Those six steals gave Driskell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Ramos, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 14 points and seven steals.

Doherty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Doherty's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.0 points over those games. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Doherty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-38 victory against Vista Ridge on the 18th. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they have also already played their next match, a 57-55 defeat against Liberty on the 20th.
