The Richland Northeast Cavaliers will take on the Spartanburg Vikings in a holiday battle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Richland Northeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
After a string of five wins, Richland Northeast's good fortune finally ran out. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring Valley. Richland Northeast has struggled against Spring Valley recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
William Wilson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Tillman, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Spartanburg had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down Landrum 63-48.
Richland Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Spartanburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
