Softball Recap: Wellsville Takes a Loss

Wellsville was the 9-7 winner over East Liverpool when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Potters on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly four runs.

Wellsville dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for East Liverpool, they moved to 3-21 with that victory, which also ended their 21-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Wellsville will venture away from home to challenge Madonna at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Dons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for East Liverpool, they will take on Chaney at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
