Baseball Game Preview: Oak Hill Golden Eagles vs. Southwood Knights

The Oak Hill Golden Eagles will face off against the Southwood Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Oak Hill couldn't beat Alexandria-Monroe on Thursday even though they stacked six runs on them in the second inning. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-7. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dylan Archer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Oak Hill is 2-1 when Archer posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-5 otherwise. Trenner Boswell was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Southwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Rochester, falling 10-0.

Southwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Oak Hill, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Oak Hill took their victory against Southwood in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
