Volleyball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall lost against Zeeland East back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Redhawks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chix. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Redhawks haven't been shut out since back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14.

Brynn Johnson paced Marshall's offense, picking up nine kills. Johnson got some help from Addie Carden and her eight assists.

Marshall moved to 20-8-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Zeeland East, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3.

Marshall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Grand Ledge on the 4th. As for Zeeland East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Portage Central on the 4th.
