Soccer Game Preview: Mountain Heritage vs. Mitchell

The Mountain Heritage Cougars will challenge the Mitchell Mountaineers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Heritage's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Mountain Heritage is headed into Monday's game following a draw, the team's first since March 17. Neither they nor Avery County could gain the upper hand last Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Sierra Jones and Kai'ana Stella scored both of Mountain Heritage's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on April 9th as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to Owen. That's two games in a row now that Mitchell have lost by exactly nine goals.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. With that draw, Mountain Heritage's record moves to 3-7-3.

Everything went Mountain Heritage's way against Mitchell when the teams last played back in March, as Mountain Heritage made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
