Basketball Recap: Osborne Cardinals vs. Hillgrove Hawks

Osborne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hillgrove Hawks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cardinals have suffered against the Hawks since February 6, 2015.

Hillgrove found their leader in freshman Bryson Jatta, who went 7-for-15 en route to 18 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. What's more, Jatta also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Timothy Mauldin, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 12 points and six rebounds.

Osborne's defeat dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Hillgrove, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.
