Basketball Recap: Takoma Academy Takes a Loss

Takoma Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Greater Grace Christian Academy on Saturday. The Takoma Academy Tigers received a blow as they fell 66-51 to the Greater Grace Christian Academy Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Eagles are ranked 26th).

Greater Grace Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Nickole Lee posted 24 points and Saleigha Fennel scored 21 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Lee has scored at least a third of Greater Grace Christian Academy's points.

Takoma Academy's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Greater Grace Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

Takoma Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greater Grace Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-34 victory against Curtis Baptist on the 5th.
