Softball Recap: Redlands Terriers vs. Cajon Cowboys
Redlands extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-12 in the process. They lost 15-3 to the Cajon Cowboys. The Terriers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cowboys from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Redlands saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shay Figueroa, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Kaylah Knudsen also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
As for Cajon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
On Cajon's side, Maggie Rodriguez looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave Rodriguez a new career-high.
At the plate, Cajon got a massive performance out of Rylee Torres, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Torres has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadine Juarez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Redlands wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 18-2 loss against Yucaipa on the 17th. As for Cajon, they have also already played their next matchup, a 5-2 win against Citrus Valley on the 17th.
