Baseball Recap: Marquette Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Marquette played against Alpena on Saturday and won via forfeit.

Marquette saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Toyras, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Wes Robinson also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Marquette pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Alpena, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Marquette has already played their next match, a 4-0 victory against Escanaba on the 28th. As for Alpena, they will square off against Traverse City Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
