Basketball Game Preview: Denver North Vikings vs. Montbello Warriors

The Denver North Vikings will square off against the Montbello Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Denver North's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Montbello has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Denver North is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Regis Groff for the full four quarters, racking up an 81-36 win. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Vikings had established a 34 point advantage.

Meanwhile, Montbello didn't have quite enough to beat DMLK on Tuesday and fell 46-43.

Despite the loss, Montbello saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kian Martin went 7 for 14 en route to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Martinez, who posted nine points.

Denver North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Montbello, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
