Recap: Richmond HomeSchool Guardians vs. Bluegrass United Bluehawks
The Richmond HomeSchool Guardians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Bluegrass United, falling 61-23. Richmond HomeSchool has not had much luck with Bluegrass United recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Bluegrass United's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie McGuire, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. McGuire has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Piper Graham, who scored 14 points.
Richmond HomeSchool bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bluegrass United, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richmond HomeSchool will face off against Barbourville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bluegrass United, they will head out on the road to take on Western Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
