Softball Preview: Vinton Lions vs. Notre Dame Pioneers

Vinton has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Notre Dame Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Last Thursday, everything went Vinton's way against Lake Arthur as Vinton made off with an 18-7 win.

Jaycie O'Conner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. O'Conner has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in eight consecutive pitching appearances. O'Conner was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Emma Labby was incredible, going 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Beonca Harvey was another key contributor, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
