Baseball Recap: James Monroe Takes a Loss

James Monroe lost against Greenbrier East last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mavericks fell 10-6 to the Spartans.

Cameron Crislip was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Gardinier, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

James Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Greenbrier East, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, James Monroe will take on Independence at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Greenbrier East, they will be playing at home against Shady Spring at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
