             The Verbena Red Devils will venture away from home to  challenge the Elba Tigers  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  both  posted some lofty  point totals in their previous games.
 Verbena took a loss when they played away from home  two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. They blew past Red Level, posting  a  56-8 victory. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 44  points or more this season.
 Verbena didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as  Jacob Morris,  Triston Wilhite,  and  Caleb Short picked up one apiece. Short has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  interception the last three times he's  played.
 Meanwhile, Elba waltzed into their game  two weeks ago with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They strolled past the Wildcats with  points to spare, taking the game  40-24.
 It was another big night for  Alvin Henderson, who rushed for 199 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
 Elba was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 285  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 283  rushing yards in 24 consecutive  matchups  dating back to last season.
 Another reason for the win was Elba's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks.  Emanuell Cooks was especially locked on to Florala's QB and sacked him twice.
 Verbena pushed their record up to 8-2 with the  win, which was their sixth straight  at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 41.3 points per game. As for Elba, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
