Basketball Recap: Wesleyan Takes a Loss

If Wesleyan was feeling good fresh off their 69-36 takedown of Atlanta International last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wesleyan Wolves took a blow against the Business Engineering Science Tech Eagles on Friday, falling 73-40. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Wesleyan's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Connor Morehouse, who went 6 for 13 en route to 18 points, and Ralph Sanders, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Business Engineering Science Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Mickell led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Jacob Mickell, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 16 points along with five assists and four steals.

Wesleyan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Business Engineering Science Tech, they moved to 12-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Wesleyan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-33 defeat against Westminster on the 18th. As for Business Engineering Science Tech, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-72 victory against Mae Jemison on the 20th.
