Eastern Montgomery has gone a perfect 4-0 against Fleming recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will challenge the Colonels at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Eastern Montgomery and Bath County, and Bath County kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs came up short against the Chargers on Thursday, falling 12-2. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Eastern Montgomery saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Fleming was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 20-0 to Floyd County.

Fleming's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Eastern Montgomery, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1-1.

Eastern Montgomery took their victory against Fleming when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
