Softball Recap: Durant Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Durant owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Plant Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Panthers back in March, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

The result came thanks to Betty Oderio's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Durant saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lennox Ullrich, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Durant pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Plant, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Durant will take on Gaither at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Plant, they will head out on the road to challenge Steinbrenner at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The last six games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
