Basketball Recap: Compass Charter Comes Up Short

Compass Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Riverstone International Otters 60-31. The Aviators were not able to make up for their loss to the Otters from their previous meeting back in February.

Defeat or not, Compass Charter got some senior leadership from Jayden Horn and Mason Bennett. Horn posted three points in addition to eight boards and five assists, while Bennett put up 11 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Horn a new career-high in assists.

Riverstone International's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amer Sangha, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Finn Simon, who had nine points and three steals.

Compass Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Compass Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 83-29 victory against Horseshoe Bend on the 7th. As for Riverstone International, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-19 win against Lighthouse Christian on the 7th.
