Softball Recap: Palatka Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Palatka put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let the Interlachen Rams get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kiley Wilkinson was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Cali Taylor was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Palatka was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Palatka has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Interlachen, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-14 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palatka will square off against Orange Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Interlachen, they will host Belleview at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rattlers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
