Football Recap: ED White Starts Season with Victory Against Trinity Christian Academy

ED White had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors 45-28 on Friday. This was payback for the Commanders, who suffered a 21-18 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading ED White to victory were Marion Laguerre and King Boylston. Laguerre rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns, while Boylston rushed for 89 yards and a pair of scores. Laguerre was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something ED White proved: they limited Trinity Christian Academy to a paltry two yards per carry. The team can thank Julian Holt for the heroic effort on defense: he. ED White didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged seven.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Holt, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Trinity Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Terel Dallas, who threw for 299 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 65 yards and two scores. The Conquerors' leading receiver Marquez Hicks was Dallas' top target yet again, picking up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown.

ED White will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Westside at 6:30 p.m. on September 5. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Bolles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
