Volleyball Recap: Chino Hills Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chino Hills waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Damien Spartans 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

While Chino Hills won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11, 25-22.

Chino Hills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Spicer, who had 15 kills, seven digs, three blocks, and two aces. That's the most blocks Spicer has posted over his last eight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Sabbara, who had four digs, two blocks, and two aces.

Spicer wasn't the only good server: Chino Hills was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Chino Hills' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. As for Damien, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Chino Hills will take on Elsinore at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Damien, they will head out on the road to take on Southlands Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
