Baseball Recap: Capistrano Valley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Capistrano Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tesoro Titans a 4-0 shutout on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Titans last Monday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

The result came thanks to Broady Hinrichsen's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Capistrano Valley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Micallef, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Another was Sammy Rucker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
