Softball Recap: Medina Valley Victorious

Medina Valley barely beat Laredo LBJ the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Medina Valley Panthers never let the Laredo LBJ Wolves get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

Alyssa Montez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Kynlee Crisp was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Morgan Castiglione was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Medina Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Medina Valley now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Laredo LBJ, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.

Medina Valley and Laredo LBJ should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Medina Valley will face off against Alexander at 7:15 p.m. on Friday up 337 places (282 vs. 619). Medina Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season. Similarly, Laredo LBJ (ranked 193rd) will meet United (ranked 657th) at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th.
