Basketball Game Preview: North Panola Cougars vs. Holly Springs Hawks

The North Panola Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Holly Springs Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Panola took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Water Valley 55-10. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Holly Springs got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They secured a 40-35 W over Rosa Fort on Tuesday.

North Panola is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.7 points. As for Holly Springs, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

North Panola took their win against Holly Springs in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 45-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Panola since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
