Football Game Preview: Clinton Yellowjackets vs. Dardanelle Sand Lizards

Clinton hasn't had much luck against Dardanelle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Yellowjackets will venture away from home to take on the Sand Lizards at 7:00 p.m. Clinton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Dardanelle likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Clinton strolled past Pottsville with points to spare, taking the game 41-24. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Apaches: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, while Dardanelle put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Waldron. The Sand Lizards blew past the Bulldogs 56-0. Given the Sand Lizards' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 160th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dardanelle's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-0.

Clinton was dealt a bruising 48-12 defeat at the hands of Dardanelle in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
