Softball Recap: Whiting's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Whiting strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Oilers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Arianna Vianello was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Gabriella Watkins was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Whiting was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .389 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Whiting's record is now 3-0. As for Lake Station Edison, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Whiting will challenge rival River Forest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lake Station Edison is set to take on their familiar foe Hammond Bishop Noll at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
