Volleyball Recap: Warrensburg-Latham Comes Up Short

Warrensburg-Latham lost against Shelbyville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Shelbyville scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Warrensburg-Latham still got an impressive performance from Delaneigh Garner, who had 12 digs and two aces. Garner has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Brooklyn Lynch was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 15 digs and two assists. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matches.

Warrensburg-Latham's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 21-9. As for Shelbyville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-8.

Looking ahead, Warrensburg-Latham will host Maroa-Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Shelbyville, they will challenge Tuscola at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
