Softball Recap: Eau Gallie Commodores vs. Viera Hawks
Eau Gallie proved they can win big last Monday (they won by seven) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Viera Hawks. This was payback for the Commodores, who suffered a 5-3 loss the last time these two teams met.
Isabel (Izzy) Gambill made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Hannah Leech was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Barrera, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Eau Gallie's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
