Rowe-Clark falls despite big games from Marcus Fossett and Arnez Jones

If the Rowe-Clark Masai Lions were riding high off their 76-43 takedown of the UIC College Prep Firecats last Sunday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rowe-Clark fell 78-66 to Hansberry on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Rowe-Clark can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while Hansberry is ranked 235th).

Rowe-Clark's loss came despite strong showings from Arnez Jones and Marcus Fossett. Jones scored 27 points along with eight rebounds, while Fossett scored 14 points along with six steals and five assists. Jones has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Artez Jones, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Rowe-Clark has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Hansberry, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-10.

Rowe-Clark will look to defend their home court on Monday against The Noble Academy at 5:30 p.m. Rowe-Clark is facing The Noble Academy at the right time seeing as The Noble Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hansberry, they will take on Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Butler's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
