Basketball Game Preview: Hunter Wolverines vs. Taylorsville Warriors

Hunter and Taylorsville are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Hunter Wolverines will square off against the Taylorsville Warriors at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Hunter will be strutting in after a victory while Taylorsville will be coming in after a loss.

Hunter took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They secured a 48-44 W over Kearns.

Hunter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nyankier Ngor out in front who posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave Ngor a new career-high. Skye Davidson was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Meanwhile, Taylorsville scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to West Jordan 67-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (60), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Hunter is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season. As for Taylorsville, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-10.

Hunter strolled past Taylorsville in their previous meeting on January 10th by a score of 49-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hunter since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
