Volleyball Game Preview: Taunton Tigers vs. Barnstable Red Hawks

The Taunton Tigers will square off against the Barnstable Red Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Taunton comes in on six and Barnstable on four.

Taunton will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Milford, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Tigers put the hurt on the Scarlet Hawks with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-21, 27-25.

Meanwhile, it was close, but last Monday Barnstable sidestepped King Philip Regional for a 3-2 win.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Barnstable got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-16, 22-25, 25-12, 22-25, 15-7.

Barnstable pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Taunton, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
