Payson's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets, posting a 43-14 victory. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 26 points or more this season.

Nolan Keeney produced another solid effort rushing for 80 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, while also throwing for 116 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 80 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathan Tsosie, who rushed for 70 yards and one score.

Despite the loss, Blue Ridge still got an impressive performance from Karlo Harris, who rushed for 133 yards and one touchdown. Harris is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season.

Payson's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. As for Blue Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Payson will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thatcher at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Blue Ridge, they have already played their next game, a 40-0 win against Apache Junction on the 10th.
