Football Recap: Fairfield Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Fairfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Maypearl Panthers 51-13. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 30-point advantage.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Khamrion Ingram and Kyden Rodriguez. Ingram rushed for 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries while Rodriguez rushed for 55 yards and two scores on only five carries.

Fairfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Madden McElroy and Connor Colvert.

Coming up, Fairfield will head out to face off against Mexia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maypearl, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Mart at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
