Basketball Game Preview: Huron Tigers vs. Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors

The Huron Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors on Tuesday. Huron knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Pierre T.F. Riggs likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Huron didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sturgis Brown, but they still walked away with a 60-54 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Scoopers: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Pierre T.F. Riggs posted their closest victory since January 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Yankton 49-47.

Huron pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points over those games. As for Pierre T.F. Riggs, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Huron didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Pierre T.F. Riggs when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 50-46 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Huron since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
