Volleyball Game Preview: Jackson Academy Raiders vs. Ruston Bearcats

After both having extra time off, the Jackson Academy Raiders and the Ruston Bearcats will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jackson Academy comes in on five and Ruston on six.

Jackson Academy is returning to their home court after beating Jackson Prep on theirs, despite the fact Jackson Prep has dominated at home this season. The Raiders blew past the Patriots 3-0 on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-15, 25-18.

Jackson Academy relied on the efforts of Anna Holladay Craft, who had 22 digs and two aces, and Lillie Henson, who had six digs and six aces. What's more, Henson racked up 18 assists, the most she's had over her last six contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Jackson Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Ruston got the win against Haughton on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

Ruston walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-11.

Jackson Academy's win bumped their record up to 29-9-1. As for Ruston, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
