Basketball Recap: Tabernacle Christian Takes a Loss

Tabernacle Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gospel Light Christian. The Conquerors were not able to make up for their loss to Gospel Light Christian from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Tabernacle Christian still got an impressive performance from Elijah Taguinod, who shot 54% from the field en route to 24 points. Taguinod has also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Evan Schatz was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to nine boards and four steals.

Tabernacle Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Gospel Light Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Tabernacle Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Liberty Christian at 5:15 p.m. As for Gospel Light Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Vandalia Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Gospel Light Christian will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
