Volleyball Recap: Burwell Starts Season with Win Against Stuart

Burwell had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Stuart Broncos on Thursday. For the Longhorns, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Broncos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Burwell never let Stuart on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-22.

Karsyn Bower was the offensive standout of the game as she had 17 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Burwell and Stuart will both be playing Twin Loup the next time they take the court. The Broncos will host the Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Longhorns will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
