Volleyball Recap: Central Crossing Takes a Loss

Central Crossing lost against Upper Arlington back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Comets lost 3-0 to the Golden Bears. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Central Crossing ultimately came up short, they really made Upper Arlington work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 26-24.

Tessa Cavey paced Central Crossing's offense, picking up seven kills. Cavey got some help from Alexis Rose-Payne and her 14 assists. Rose-Payne was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Upper Arlington had a senior duo take command as Asha Chaudhari had 17 digs and seven assists and Ellie Ness had five digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Ness.

Central Crossing now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Upper Arlington, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Central Crossing has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Lincoln on the 9th. As for Upper Arlington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Hilliard Bradley on the 9th.
