Crest has gone a perfect 10-0 against Forestview recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Crest will take on Forestview at 6:00 p.m. Crest will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Crest proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Kings Mountain 2-1. The two-run effort marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Crest's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ella Shope, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Shope hit this season.
Meanwhile, Forestview sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Stuart W. Cramer on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Olivia Hensley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Baker, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Crest pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Forestview, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Crest has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. However, it's not like Forestview struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Crest's way against Forestview when the teams last played on March 7th, as Crest made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crest since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
