Basketball Game Preview: Madison Mustangs vs. South Gibson Hornets

Madison has won three straight games at home, while South Gibson has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Madison Mustangs will welcome the South Gibson Hornets at 6:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, Madison lost to Clarksville Academy on the road by a 65-46 margin. The Mustangs were down 50-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, South Gibson ended the year with a bang, routing Fayette Ware 65-44 on Monday. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

South Gibson's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Madison came up short against South Gibson in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 37-25. Thankfully for Madison, Hallie Allen (who went 7 for 12 on her way to 20 points and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
