Baseball Recap: Lindenwold Comes Up Short

Lindenwold extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 5-8. They lost 17-0 to the Palmyra Panthers. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

As for Palmyra, their victory bumped their record up to 4-14. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Palmyra's part, TJ Peltz made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Peltz also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Palmyra is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-13 otherwise. Peltz was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ian Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Bachich, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lindenwold will welcome Eastside at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Palmyra, they will square off against Ewing at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
