Basketball Recap: Xaidyn Mckennon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead First Baptist Academy over Gloria Deo Academy

First Baptist Academy entered their matchup against Gloria Deo Academy on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The First Baptist Academy Eagles came up short against the Gloria Deo Academy Lions, falling 47-27. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

First Baptist Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Xaidyn McKennon, who posted six points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy De La Rosa, who had 12 points.

First Baptist Academy now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Gloria Deo Academy, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

First Baptist Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-46 win against Lifegate Christian on the 30th. As for Gloria Deo Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Great Hearts Monte Vista at 7:00 p.m. on January 24, 2025.
