Softball Recap: Manatee Comes Up Short

After soaring to 20 runs the game before, Manatee was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against the Sarasota Sailors, falling 15-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their meetings with the Sailors: they've now lost nine in a row.

Manatee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Caldwell, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Manatee's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Sarasota, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Manatee has already played their next contest, an 18-7 defeat against Lemon Bay on the 7th. As for Sarasota, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 18-7 victory against North Port on the 10th.
