Baseball Game Preview: Cleveland Blue Raiders vs. Rhea County Golden Eagles

For the second straight game, Cleveland will face off against Rhea County. The Blue Raiders will host the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Cleveland is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Rhea County just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles.

For Rhea County's part, Levi Love spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Rhea County got a massive performance out of Reese Pendergrass, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Pendergrass a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jax Schmitt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Rhea County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cleveland only posted an OBP of .323.

Cleveland's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Rhea County, they moved to 6-16 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
