Baseball Recap: South Bend Saint Joseph Wins Going Away Against Culver Academies

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only South Bend Saint Joseph walked away with it. They blew past the Culver Academies Eagles 8-0 on Wednesday. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Jacob Snyder's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dallas Downey was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Joe Washburn was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for South Bend Saint Joseph and bumps their season record up to 23-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Culver Academies, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-6.

Coming up, South Bend Saint Joseph will take on Glenn at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Culver Academies does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
