Softball Recap: Sanderson Takes a Loss

Sanderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-2 to the Athens Drive Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-7 last Tuesday.

Sloane Thorpe was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Stephanie Munt also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Sanderson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Athens Drive, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.

Looking ahead, Sanderson will head out to take on Broughton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens Drive, they will take on Wake Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Wake Prep Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Athens Drive surely won't give up without a fight.
