The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Lompoc nor Mission College Prep made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Braves had just enough and edged out the Royals 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Braves: when they faced off against the Royals on Wednesday, they had to take a 9-5 defeat.

Jack Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kasch Kubasiewicz, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Lompoc's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Mission College Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
