Basketball Recap: Smoky Hill Buffaloes vs. Legend Titans
Smoky Hill unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 75-51 to the Legend Titans on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Buffaloes have suffered since January 25th.
Despite the loss, Smoky Hill still got an impressive performance from Daniel Boyd, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cruz Valdez, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Leading Legend to victory were Khalil Hudgins and Freddie Burke. Hudgins went 12-for-13 to rack up 25 points, while Burke shot 88% from the field en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Those 25 points gave Hudgins a new career-high. Tyler Houlberg was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.
Legend has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
