Softball Recap: Gary West Side Takes a Loss

Gary West Side was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Hammond Morton Governors, falling 22-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 16-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Gary West Side's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hammond Morton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gary West Side will take on Whiting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hammond Morton, they will challenge East Chicago Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
